Lavender flower water | Orange, patchouli | 200 ml

Made for the months when cold weather and indoor heating leave skin feeling dry. This lotion hydrates, moisturises and nourishes, and leaves skin soft, smooth and comfortable. Glycerin and panthenol draw moisture into the skin, shea butter and the olive, jojoba and argan oils nourish it and form a light protective layer, and chamomile and calendula extracts and allantoin add softness. With regular use, skin feels comfortable and cared for, even during colder months.

I could have used plain water. I chose lavender flower water. Instead of plain water, the base of this lotion is organic lavender flower water, the water collected when lavender flowers are steam distilled. It hydrates and refreshes the skin, and carries the water-soluble plant compounds of lavender, which have been used in skin care for centuries for their calming scent and comforting feel. The water is the biggest part of any lotion, so I made it work for your skin too.

Scented only with essential oils. Sweet orange and deep, earthy patchouli give the lotion a warm citrus scent with a grounding base.

What is inside

  • Organic lavender flower water. The base of the lotion, in place of plain water. It hydrates and refreshes, with a calming floral scent.
  • Glycerin and panthenol. Humectants that draw moisture into the skin and help it stay hydrated.
  • Organic shea butter, olive oil, jojoba oil and argan oil. Moisturise, nourish and form a light protective layer that leaves skin soft and supple.
  • Chamomile extract. Made from chamomile flowers and known for its gentle, soothing character.
  • Calendula extract. Made from the petals of the pot marigold and used in skin care for centuries.
  • Allantoin. A skin-conditioning ingredient that softens and soothes the skin.

Body lotion is not tested on animals nor contains any animal-origin ingredients.

Ingredients information

Lavender flower water* is the water collected when lavender flowers are steam distilled. It hydrates and refreshes the skin and is known for its calming scent and soothing feel. In this lotion it replaces plain water.

Shea butter* is rich in vitamins A and E and in fatty acids. It deeply moisturises, softens and helps skin hold on to its moisture, leaving it soft and supple. It has been used for centuries in West Africa for skin care.

Olive oil* is rich in oleic acid, vitamin E and natural antioxidants. It deeply nourishes and softens the skin, leaving it smooth with a healthy-looking glow.

Jojoba oil is a light liquid wax that closely resembles the skin’s natural sebum. It absorbs quickly, has a light, non-greasy feel and leaves skin moisturised, soft and smooth.

Argan oil comes from the kernels of the argan tree and is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It moisturises, softens and leaves skin supple with a healthy-looking glow.

Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture into the skin and helps it stay hydrated, leaving it smooth, soft and supple.

Panthenol, also known as pro-vitamin B5, helps skin retain moisture and leaves it soft, supple and comfortable.

Chamomile extract is made from chamomile flowers and is known for its gentle, soothing character. It has a long tradition in skin care.

Calendula extract is made from the petals of the pot marigold and is known for its gentle, soothing character. It has been used in skin care for centuries.

Allantoin is a skin-conditioning ingredient that softens and soothes the skin.

Cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate are emulsifiers derived from olive oil. They hold the oils and the water together for a smooth, even texture.

Orange essential oil is pressed from the peel of the orange and has a sweet, juicy citrus scent.

Patchouli essential oil has a deep, earthy and slightly sweet scent. It is a classic base note in perfumery.
